She later served as a replacement ferry during the Tjörn Bridge collapse and remained in service there for several years. Afterward, Ellen moved to Lake Vänern, where she operated tourist traffic with Karlstad as her home port. In 2014, she was sold to the west coast of Sweden and underwent modifications, including the addition of a staircase to the sundeck and taller chimneys.

Since 2019, Ellen has been back home in Östergötland after 134 years of service across Sweden!

Svanö was built in 1899 at Hernösands Mekansiska Verkstad & Warfs AB as a steam-powered tugboat. Constructed from iron, she was delivered to Svanö AB, a sawmill company based in Svanö, Ångermanland.

In 1952, she was motorized and converted into a passenger vessel, with a further conversion in 2010. Since then, she has operated in passenger traffic on Lake Hjälmaren under the name Liden before finding her way to us.

She is now named Svanö once again, as she was when originally built, and operates daily during the summer on the Archipelago Line from Arkösund via Tyrislöt to Harstena (the red line). She is also available for charter tours, where you can choose your own destination!

M/S ATHENE

Our newest vessel is M/S Athene, which was built in 1915 at Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstads AB as a private luxury yacht for the merchant Hugo Brusell in Stockholm. In the 1930s, she was converted into a passenger vessel, and in 1950, the steam engine was removed and replaced with a Seffle semidiesel engine of 120 hp at Fisketången.

Before joining us, she operated in various regions, including the Stockholm archipelago, the west coast, Lake Vättern, the Göta Canal, and most recently, Lake Mälaren and Lake Hjälmaren.

Since the 2024 season, she has returned to the Göta Canal with Söderköping as her home port!

Our tours depart from either the port of Fyrudden, Tyrislöt or Arkösund.
